Hi, I just started my first build, an 18W TMB, and unfortunately I didn't get very far before encountering an issue. The spring retainers for the power and rectifier tubes appear to be far too short, Is it possible the wrong ones were supplied? Or am I doing something completely wrong? Thanks.

They’ll stretch out over the tubes

Gently pull them up and over and be careful not to break off tip on the tube. Gl

Thanks, but they will not even come close to stretching over those tubes. They stretch about a quarter inch with some straining and effort that worries me, but I need almost an inch more. It’s not even close - there’s just not nearly enough material to reach. I suppose it will work fine without them, my other amps didn’t have those.

You just have to get the tip of the tube through the opening between the spring material; it doesn’t have to go over the tip.
