With the chassis planned to arrive this week, and the transformers a week later, we're going to host a build thread here with plenty of first time pictures.

I was playing the new production version Tramp yesterday. Tried it with a Strat, a Les Paul and a Danelectro. The tones were great at all settings in all modes, Tweed, 'Tude, clean, dirty, thin fat. Not a single bad tone in the amp. Tried both 6L6 and 6V6 tubes, and couldn't tell which I liked more. With hindsight I think I like the added harmonic complexity of the 6V6's breakup. But for gigging the 6L6 is going to be more practical. Gotta try an EL34 one of these days, using the lower-impedance OT primary tapping, or maybe a KT66. I bet those two will sound amazing, each in their own way.

Yes, as heard, the first production Tramp is up and running and sounding great. kurtlives successfully put it together as a test and now we have verified the layout, checked all the parts, tested the design and are ready to ship.

The layout, schematic and some of the pictures will be updated soon but right now, the manual is being finished off.

We're hoping to ship the first one out in the next day or so.

Awesome pics! Can you tell us how much clearance there is (along two axes) between the speaker edge and the power tube?

From the two rear pics (albeit only one is a KT66 ... I think), there seems to be at least an inch or more, but it's tough to really tell.

I shipped that one so just have to wait a few days for the measurements. Looked to me like about 1" and the depth of that 10" speaker was 5.5"

More measurements are needed to confirm.

There's a bit more than 1" on each side with a 6V6 tube . You couldnt put a 5.5" deep speaker with a magnet diameter bigger than about 5.5". If the depth was 5" you would be OK with any size speaker - or you off-set the speaker cutout more.

Thanks, took a little while to settle on the design. Actually pretty unique when you look at the details.

If by exotic you mean hardwood, it's whenever one gets ordered. Other tolex colours coming soon including a stained pine cab and special tweed one going to Germany.
