Hi, my name is Kevin and I am wondering what speakers folks are using with their OSD amp?

I've tried it with a few different cabs

1. 2 x 12 Celestion V30's

2. 1 x 12 Oversize ported cab with a EVM12L

3. 1 x 12 EV SRO

4. 2 x 10 celestion vintage 10's

All cabs sounded great with 1 and 2 being the best in my opinion.

Hope that helps, Mike

I use the Trinity OSD cab with a Fane A60 speaker and it sounds glorious.

Mr. Dumble usually paired them with either the EVM12 or the Celestion G12-65. Those are usually the most popular choices. The EVM12 is a very neutral speaker and really needs the special EV ported cabinet to work well IMO... which makes for a VERY heavy package.

I use my OSD with either a WGS ET65 (their take on the original G12-65) or the Scumback M75-LD - which the Scumback guy recommended to me for a D-Style. Both are excellent speakers that sound very similar. The Scumback seems to have a little more low-end "punch" to it which I love with the OSD (probably because of the large dust-cap), but the ET65 is a little more versatile and pairs extremely well with ALL of my amps and I have this speaker in two cabinets. Both are rated at 65 watts.

I believe Two Rock uses T.R. labeled WGS ET65's in their D-Style amps/cabs.

I think between those four choices you would be very happy. If you want "accurate" go with the EVM12... if you want "smooth" go with one of the other three.

That's good insight, and before plumping for the Fane I was going to go with the WGS ET65. During testing I hooked it up to a cab with a Celestion Blue in it - it was gorgeous, my absolute favorite. Unfortunately, the blue is rated for 15W and just won't cut it for the OSD's 33W with 6L6s.

Thank you for the suggestions. Since I already have cabinets with vintage 30’s I thin I’ll start there.
I’m looking forward to building the OSD as soon as it arrives!

I realize this is an old thread, but still relevant IMO.

I'm running my OSD with a WGS12L (Warehouse) in a Trinity Sidewinder 1X12 cabinet. Yes it's heavy, but it sounds wonderful. I've also run it thru a closed-back Avatar 4x12 with Greenbacks. The 1x12 WGS12L sounds much better to me.

Jensen Blackbird 100 in an oversized 1x12 with oval rear port.
The speaker is just over 7 lbs (about half the weight of WGS12L or EVM12L). The 100 watts rating is plenty for the OSD.

I use my OSD with either a WGS ET65 (their take on the original G12-65) or the Sunback M75-LD - which the Sunback guy recommended to me for a D-Style. Both are excellent speakers that sound very similar. The Sunback seems to have a little more low-end "punch" to it which I love with the OSD (probably because of the large dust-cap), but the ET65 is a little more versatile and pairs extremely well with ALL of my amps and I have this speaker in two cabinets.
