Thought this could help everyone out who is intended to build a Triwatt since the build pics in older topics might have a little different appearance. I really enjoyed this build so much!

Hope this could be of some help!

Feel free to comment on the build. It's my first, so comments are more then welcome!

Cheers!

Hi Gertjan. Welcome to the forum!

Good job on the build. Really neat and tidy. Thanks for the detailed pictures.

I'm sure you will have as much fun playing it as you did building it.

Much thanks for the detailed pics! I am in the process of building mine right now...had to take a break after getting the bias circuit wired several weeks ago but hope to start up again this weekend.
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the kind responses! And yes I enjoy playing it as much as building it. I used a lot of images from others during the build so I figured I might as well take some decent pictures after each step to help others out!
@PhamRock good luck with yours!

I do however, find that the amp is lacking a little bass.. anyone got a clue as to what could be the problem. Or could it just be the nature of an Hiwatt, I've never player one before. My Laney L5 Studio has quite a bit more of it. Discussed this with Steven already, but all voltages are correct. He suggested some cap swaps although nobody had ever indicated that it lacked bass. Would swapping to KT66 tubes give me some more bass? I'm using it with 3 Sovtek 12AX7 tubes, 1 Jan Philips 12AT7WC and two JJ 6V6's plugged into a EVM12L (also used a V30 and ET65).

We did suggest changes to the bass control. We typically use Tung-Sol 12AX7s and NOS GE 12AT7 and JJ PI with 6V6. The KT66, has a bit more bottom end, but not that you would notice if you think it is bass light.
We recently tested two here and have no concerns for the bass response in the standard circuit. It might just take getting used to. It's like playing a hi-fi!!

Thanks Coco! I have yet to test these different cap values but it could just be the nature of the amp, guitars do not need a lot of bass naturally so maybe I got used to a little much bass haha.

Cheers!

I have tested and played some more with the amp and I figured it's just the nature of the amp. It has a different bass control and response then the laney. As Coco indicated: more Hi-Fi! I love it!

Thanks for designing such an awesome Hiwatt
Clone for bedroom volume (don't be fooled tho, it can get really loud). It's also true what the description says: none of the settings sound harsh or flabby. You can get many great tones out of it! I think I'm gonna marry it!! Lol

Cheers!
