Getting close to putting this build to bed, hopefully. But I have one more question before I begin startup. There appear to be two extra wires coming off the power transfoermer, one white with a black stripe, and one black with a white stripe. Can I just tape them and tuck them inside the chassis, or should I do something else with them?

Thanks for the help!

Check the NOTE at top of page 50. Wht w/ blk tracer and blk w/wht tracer NOT used for 240 VAC or 120 VAC applications. Insulate ends w/ heat shrink and tuck out of the way. Build Guide ver. 1.16, Feb 2018.

PS Looks like a nice, clean build.

Thanks. That’s what I needed to know. Guess I’ll have to read closer next time. Powering it up in the morning! I’m hoping for no issues...

I had two minor issues on powering up: I missed the ground for the relay board, and I had two wires reversed on the OD trim pot. Issues resolved, and I must say, this amp is a beast! I wasn’t expecting it to have this much gain on tap! Looking forward to really dialing it in. I’m still running it through a Cannabis Rex speaker, but I have a G12-65 I’m going to swap it with and see which I like better. So far, I am very happy.

Jreiners and Coco, didn't mean to be so didactic, but I've done the same thing before twice; Tweed and Tramp builds (didn't read the build guide all the way through) Glad to hear of your success

OK, I am freaking loving this amp! It sounds amazing with the G12-65. I do have two more questions, though:

1) I experience quite a volume drop with the jazz/rock switch set to jazz, and it sounds kind of thin and/or weak to me. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if I have something incorrect. I traced everything in that area, and it looks correct.

2) Is there no way to switch normal and overdrive channels without the footswitch?

Thanks guys, keep rockin!

There shouldn't be a volume drop Jazz is definitely thinner. Maybe it just seems that it's lower because of that?

No way to manually switch on OD without a foot switch. See what hppens if you unplug the footswitch?
You could add a toggle switch to flip on the OD with no footswitch. But then you'd have no indicator.
