Does anyone have a picture of proper input jack wiring when the VRM is added? When the resistor is removed from the jack, does that mean that the wire for the shielded cable must hit both areas of the jack since the connection would be lost without the resistor wired in? I am cleaning up my wiring in this amp. I was never able to successfully get my VRM working properly so I am going to take another stab at it, bought new MOSFET and zenor diode, and cleaning up all my lead dress. It was the first amp I built and I love the sound, I just need to tame the volume. Any help, diagrams, or pictures of input jack wiring for the VRM would be most appreciated.

The input jack wiring is identical to the standard wiring EXCEPT you cut out just the 1M and move it over to the grids at the input tube.
The 18 watt is the same way.

Well It was successful. The vrm works! I would have to say I have learned the importance of proper lead dress, and short and tidy wiring. Amp sounds great. and now I can tame the volume when necessary. Thank you for your help

Is it necessary to cut out the resistors and move them to the grids? I have not changed this in mine and it seems to be ok.

The notes about the VRM in the Resources section say to only do the mod if you experience "scratchy noises" at lower VRM settings. If yours is working well I would leave the jacks wired normally.
