Hello all,
I've uploaded a picture of my output jack wiring. I found the OT transformer leads far too large to fit in the toggle contacts so I used some other solid wire that fit better and then twisted, soldered, and heat shrunk them to the OT leads. I hope that is appropriate. Now all contacts have continuity among them, regardless of where the toggle is switched. Pardon my lack of electronic knowledge but is this appropriate? Previous to wiring up the final yellow OT wire, the toggle controlled which pair of contacts had continuity, middle-top or middle bottom. Any sage advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can't see the pic

You should have continuity. There is very little resistance between the OT leads (4R and 8R, even less DC resistance). To your DMM this reading is essentially a short, continuity.

Hi again,

Hopefully you can see the picture if you wouldn't mind having a look.

Personally, I would have used a bigger switch. Or I would have just soldered the wires from the transformer directly to the switch contacts. The wires don't necessarily have to go through the little holes in that switch as long as you have good solder joints.

Anyway, if what you want to do is feed either the 8 or 4 ohm output of the transformer to both jacks, depending on the position of the switch, what you have wired isn't pretty but it will work.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I tried to solder the OT leads directly to the contacts but there just wasn't room for that to happen very effectively. I agree a bigger switch would have made this a lot easier.
Can anybody comment on my co-axial connection post?
Thanks.
