Is that a single or double baffle?

Double baffle. Original Ampeg Jess Oliver design is the plan.

I would love to make my own if you are willing to share your plans. I will need it to go with the Trip Top amp kit that I'm planning on buying. :D

We plan to share plans with Trip Top kit buyers who want to make their own Portaflex cabinets.

I'm curious what you think about the ability of the classic double baffle cab to handle the output of a Triptop armed with KT88s. I ask, because what never seems to be mentioned is the "soft baffle" of the double baffle. If you examine the speaker baffle, you'll see that there is actually very little wood suspending the speaker from the cab, due to the port arrangement. Modern cabinet design seems to call for a very rigid baffle. The b15n is not that, but works well for the the amount of air the 25 or so watts the amp could deliver. Will the additional wattage from the KT88s overwhelm the "soft baffle"? I am not saying it will or it won't as I don't know. Hence the question.

Good question. The speaker offers some reinforcement but the baffle is quite thick. Might be an idea to add some reinforcing stringers or go with thicker material.

Will you have any vetted cabinet builders that can build this cabinet for the B15 clone builders?
I’m making plans for a winter project but I don’t do wood. I may have a source for some Ampeg blue check Tolex. I’m negotiating that right now.

If you can get the Tolex and get it to Stephen(Coco), I'm sure he'd do it. Just need to make sure you get enough Tolex. Check w/ Coco on available option like the cabinet cart and speaker options, too. PS If you need to you can PM him from the User Control Panel (upper right corner). He's someone you can work with!

How many yards of Tolex does it take to cover a complete B-15 cabinet, and tray?
