Please let me know your thoughts. I'm putting it in a 17" X 6" chassis box. The order of the parts from left to right (not including transformers) is:

rectifier, cap can, el84 X 4, 12AX7 X 3

I'll be using the layout for the 36W

Wouldn't it give you more room if you placed the capacitor between the trannies in front of @ V6 and V7. Haven't seen a 36 watt layout but just seems to be an easier placement. Push the OT to the right just a hair to accommodate the change.

I didn't say there was anything wrong, I just think it's a easier to build layout with the cap between.

Thanks for the input guys. I think that might be a really good idea, but I made the turret board yesterday and there will not be much room between it and the PT. I will have to look at this idea a little closer.

It is a very good point. I'm thinking that if I do this, it will give me more room for the power plug and I won't have to route the along the side, and I can go straight to the PT.

BTW, make sure the PT & OT axis are at right angles to each other. I'd move the cap out of the line-up as well.
