Does anyone have an accurate schematic and layout for a DC-30? A BOM would be great as well.

Cheers,

Chris. :D

Daz & I did one. You can see his post here: viewtopic.php?t=617

Once Daz is done and things are working, there will be schemo & layo.

Yeah I saw that thread the DC-30 clone looks great. I'm in no rush to get started and look forward to the report of how it sounds etc. :D

You should know by now I like the idea of building my own amp and maybe soon I'll get around to actually doing it!

I've played with the idea of making a Mini Cat or a Lightning clone but I really think the DC-30 is for me, with the two channels and half power it is more versatile.

Cheers,

Chris.

This is an amp that has been a long time in the planning.

No, I think it was based on the work that Daz & I started, with some mods. Looks good as always.

I'm still keen to wait for your and Daz's schematic and layout before diving in.

Just need to learn some patience!

Cheers,

Chris.

I have built one and will be firing it up tonite.
The layout has a number of errors so I was half using the schematic as well. All going well with the amp, I'll make corrections an post shortly.

Nik's layout is alittle different but both kinda used what I initially drawn up

It's not recommended as a first build unles you get a paint by numbers kit like Ceri@tone.

Daz, I was another of the beta testers like yourelf. Get nik to send you the latest layout where he fixes some stuff (like the phase switch). If you've found somethings, let me know what they are, or more importantly let nik know what they are.

I'm happy as a pig in sh*t on this one. Definitely go wtih the 2 NOS 5V4's if you have them. It's the icing on an already delicious cake.

the layout I used is something stephen and I conspired. Everything is on one board, tone section is all wired on the switch and overall alittle neater ( I think).
Thank goodness for a variac. I found slight sparking at 30v one of the preamp sockets - looks like my heater wiring. Much easier and less potentially fatal to troubleshoot things at a lower voltage than at full blown. Plus I was told to allow 10 minutes for caps to "settle in" at lower voltage than power up full ball.
I used Niks tranny set so be interesting to see how it sounds (output tranny looks on the small side). However I've used his tranny stuff before and tone has been nothing but impressive
