I'm no EE or anything but just wanted to post an observation after reading Dave Funk's Tube Amp Workbook.

He says in the grounding chapter that wiring the hot AC lead to the side of the fuse terminal, as opposed to the far end connector will yield a "hot" fuseholder. Makes sense. To quote him, "If you connect the Black wire to the side pin of the fuseholder, the one that connects to the front conductor of the fuseholder, the back cap of the fuse might touch it as you withdraw the fuse. This would then conduct through the unblown fuse, and cause the top of the fuse to become alive-the one that you're holding onto. By connecting the black wire to the center, or back conductor, the fuse gets disconnected as soon as it's withdrawn."

I mention this only insofar as I noticed the layouts for the 15 and 18 would be wired as "hot" fuseholders as outlined by Funk. FWIW.

I've never thought of it that way. However rare it would be, I'm all for safety so sounds like a good idea. I'll investigate some more.

Holy Ghost says "You are probably right BUT a fuse should never be removed without first disconnecting the power cord from the supply."

I think I'll make the change, it's a good idea.
