Hey guys, do you have info on providing a line out for direct recording and is it practical? The reason I ask is that when i eventually build an 18 watter, i'd love to mic' it with an sm57 while also recording direct by running it through a speaker cab sim and then into the PC. There are ideas floating around on the 18 watt forum but i was interested with reference to your designs.

Anyway, just a thought!

Have you guys finalized a date/time when the 18 watter kits with 6v6's will be able to ship?

There's no reason that the line out on the Lightning wouldn't work.

Agree with LeeMo. Two resistors will do just fine!

Actually soon we think. Could do now.

Would you want to have both EL84/6V6? Switching power tubes 'on the fly' is becoming a stubborn problem (POPping). If you use a toggle switch and need to switch it only periodically, I'd say, good to go.

If you only want 6V6 9no EL84), good to go!

Switching on the fly is not that big of a deal for me.. i'd be happy with a switch. But then again i'd also be happier with a switch between EL34's and 6v6's! haha. But i don't think that is an option. Primarily i'd be looking to the 6V6's for my power . You've got some time to finalize things though, i am still budgeting for a head kit and am almost there. Looking to put an order in within the next month or so. Early christmas/birthday combined for myself type thing.

 Man alive are you kidding me? So it can operate with either EL34's or 6v6's? Or are they biased so that the 4 output tubes run together at the same time? I suppose its jus a matter if a bias switch and you are off to the races as long as the right set are in place.

That's awesome.. i think you guys have pretty much sold me on that right there. So do you expecct that within a month you'll be able to provide a kit that does this?

Thanks

That's correct, switchable tubes using the same Output transformer. Shoot me an email.
