Hi, I am thinking of building a 18w TMBv6 with the switchable power tubes.
As I live in the UK I plan to get the transformers here to avoid hefty shipping costs. I am looking at the Hammond 290PAZ which has a 3A 6.3V heater secondary.
However 2x 6v6 is 900mA 2xEL84 is 1.52A and 3x12AX7 is 900mA which exceeds the 3A. I then checked the numbers for the heyboer and that seems to be a 3A heater supply as well. How have people dealt with this in a V6 build?
Over to the experts. Thanks.

It hasn't been an issue. Hammond are overspec’d as are the Heyboer. The Heyboer has been able to handle it in our builds.

Heyboer also told me that the current carrying capacity is also can be considered as a total for the whole PT. So if you add up the total PT secondary heater capacity, you will find it to be below the total which means it wont burn up!
