I had a power tube mishap the other day. I was packing up for a gig and noticed that one of my power tubes was white and the nipple was busted off. I had just used the amp at a practice and hauled it home. I don't think it would functioned at all in that condition, so I assume that something must have bumped the tube retainer and sheared off the nipple between practice and home. Luckily I had a spare set of JJ's available.

It could have been a freak thing, but the ends of the power tubes and rectifier are not protected very well on a combo chassis mounted in a standard Marshall-style combo cab. It looks like the Marshall 1974x has a vented metal cage or perhaps just a flat shield to protect these tubes. Is there an option or DYI solution someone here has done to add something like that to a Trinity combo chassis? I know there are heat dissipation issues to consider too.

Marshall had to add that to legally protect themselves.
DIY - Go and get a piece of expanded metal (Home Depot?) and screw it from side to side.
