OK, here are some short clips of my sIII recorded and played by local blues guitar legend Gary Cox. Gary is playing a Lonestar Strat and the amp is through 1 X 12" Greenback and Shure SM57. No extra effects or processing used.

First is the normal channel, file name indicates settings e.g.

Normal, tone 4, vol 4, humbuckers (you get the picture)

Great Clips. Thanks for posting them. The settings really allow you to pick up the subtle differences in tone that are available. What was the impression of Mr. Cox? Did he want one? 8)

Yes in fact he really liked the sIII! We are going to do his next show with an sIII and another amp of mine which he has had before that has tremolo and reverb. He can the A/B switch for just the tone he is after using the sIII for the r&r and the other amp for his slide and blues stuff. I will try to get some recordings of that gig in Jan sometime.

Very Nice. The spankyness of the sIII comes through in spades. I really like the way you are able to dial in somthing that has a little less gain when needed....oh...wonderful playing too. That strat neck pickup was singing.

Cheers

So, a little infor on the man, Gary Cox, who played those blues tunes so nicely on the sIII.

According to legin, Gary has played a couple of the Marshall RI amps and he thought the sIII was streaks ahead on tone.

THE GARY COX BAND - UK - http://www.garycox.net/
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Gary Cox is a renowned slide guitarist. He’s toured extensively in the USA and Europe playing anything from roots, blues to ‘out there’ rock.

Think of a mutant blend of Ry Cooder, Rory Gallagher, SRV and Jimi Hendrix and you pretty much have the idea. From the straight and pure old school blues to the edgy rock blues, expect virtuosic slide guitar with traditional vocal styles.
