Most sheet metal shops will sell some perforated sheet or get the metal eavestrough gutter protector from Home Depot

Good suggestion coco - I had a heck of a time finding a good material to cover the vent till I read this post. Sure enough, I went to Lowes and the gutter department had mesh covers that will work perfect.

I was at Home Depot the other day looking for a similar thing. Didn't think of the eaves trough gutter protector. Thanks Coco!

They did have heavy gauge security mesh panels (usually in the nuts & bolts section) but that was a tad extreme for this application. Might be cool for a front panel of you're going for a hardcore industrial look.

Reviving this thread. Looking for vent mesh material, what do Hiwatts use? Home Depot has some perforated sheet metal, but the designs are a little too ostentatious for my liking. Lowes has some of the same, plus a plain wide steel mesh.

Aside from what Hiwatts use, which I'd like to know, I'd be looking for a dense wire mesh I would think. Any leads? Bonus points for Canadian.

Galvanized Gutter mesh. Lowes Canada. Works well.

Hrm, this type I take it, may do the trick. Also, what's the best way to affix it? Staples or screws?
