Our Tramp kit has been tested, played, gigged and recorded and it's proving to be a real winner. With interchangeable power tube capability (6V6 (included), 6L6, KT66 and EL34), built in VRM (DC power level control) and all the control you'd need, it's a steal at $400 USD. This is an amp that is far more than a practice amp. It's comfortable at home, on stage or in the studio. Specs Here
Everything is included in the kit to build a working amp, including tubes.

Shipping $30 USD in North America. Canadian customers pay appropriate taxes.

Features:

*All components
*Carbon Film + Carbon Composition resistors
*Cliff and Switchcraft jacks
*Alpha and Bourns pots
* Mallory/ETR Metal Poly coupling caps
*Belton tube sockets; tube retainer & shield
*GP03 material 1/8" thick Eyelet Board
*JJ 6V6 and 12AX7 tubes
*Heyboer 550V 120/230 V custom power transformer
*Heyboer custom output transformer with 5K/2.5K primaries (6V6, 6L6, KT66, EL34)
*All 22 gauge hook-up wire; 22 gauge pre-twisted heater wireAll Mounting hardware, spacers and nuts.
*Front faceplate Mirrored Aluminum with White silk screened lettering.
*CNC Punched 0.06" Aircraft Aluminum Chassis with tapped holes for tube mounting screws.
*Detailed Assembly guide
*large 11" X 17" size layout and schematic drawings
*real Support

This kit can be built by first time builders. It is more complicated than a Champ - but far more rewarding. We recommend that you become familiar with schematics, layouts and soldering in order to assemble the board and wire up the amplifier. We also recommend that you get familiar with high voltage tube amp construction and safety.

Save yourself a lot of time and expense finding and sourcing the parts, and get a professional build as a result.

We also make custom cabinets to fit your Tramp! The chassis from June 2013 will DROP INTO a standard Tweed 112 combo cabinet.

Really like the look of that. Would a 12" fit if you wanted one?

Yes, I think so. You would need to be sure there was no interference with the tubes though. Specially the KT66, but it's set pretty deep already .

There was some talk on another tread about The Tramp maybe being available as a head kit. Is that still a go. I would much prefer a head (easier to hide from my wife!)

...fingers crossed, eyes shut....me saying "please say yes, please say yes..."

Yes. Head is an option. We just have to punch out the holes in the top deck.

Will the baffle be behind the grill cloth enough for a front mount speaker? That way, you get an extra half inch or so taken off the speaker depth to aid in clearance with a 12.

The cab drawing from a few posts up shows the blackbird coming pretty far back. I think those speakers are 5.26" overall if you rear mount them. Is the drawing to scale (with regard to the speaker)?

The reason I'm curious is the idea of a lightweight 12" speaker in such an amp would really make it a grab and go beast. I've got a Celestion Century sitting at home all by it's lonesome that's pretty low profile at only 5" deep (and that's rear mounted). I used to own a Tonkerlite (another neo speaker) that had a pretty low profile basket and small magnet structure. They spec out at 5.1" deep overall. Pretty sweet to throw a 4 lb 12er in there.

With the Jensen Blackbird Alnico, the Tramp weighs in at 24.5 pounds.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't too heavy to begin with when it had such a 10" speaker. I'm still curious with regard to the questions because of the possibility of a 12" speaker.
