Can a KT66 power tube be used in the Triton if an appropriate cathode bias resistor is used, as is suggested in the documentation for the Tramp? Also, would the output transformer primaries have to be switched to 2.5 K or left at 5K, again per the Tramp documentation? Any other things to consider, say heater current requirements, if I wanted to run a KT66 in a Triton? Thanks much.

Looking at the schematic it says the power trans has 1.5 amps of heater current avail

Coco will have to confirm

Kt66 draws 1.3 amps

6l6 draws . 9 amps. 6v6 draws less
6sj7 draws .3 amps

6l6 +6sj7 =1.2amps

kt66+6sj7=1.6amps

the only kt66 that I know of that draws .9amps is the new production tung sol

Transformer specs say it can provide 100mA at High voltage and 2.25 A heater current.

I expect it will power the heaters, the bias current should b fine too. Use the 4K bias tap.

I found it to be quite good and the power is quite good.
