With minor exceptions myTrip Top is complete. I spent a week troubleshooting an audible Ticking sound, about one every second. The 1k/10w cement resistor had an internal fault. I changed it out with a 1k/20w I had and the isssue finally disappeared. I initially thought it was noisy tubes. I finally found three preamp tubes that are dead quiet. You can hardly tell that the amp is running.

The tubes used are a NOS GZ34 (Mullard), EL37 pentodes (Mullard), 5591 (RCA red base), two 6SL7 NOS Phillips.

My bright switch on the cascade channel doesn’t work and I need to change the bias range resistor. With the EL 37 tubes my bias pot is at the limit and I can only get 37ma, when I used NOS 7581a I was able to get my 40ma. I’d like to get to 40ma. Other than those issues the amp is ready.

All pots were upgraded to Allen Bradley and most of the resistors are the red metal film 1w PRP resistors.

You've found great NOS preamp tubes (Mullard GZ34, Phillips 6SL7) that operate very quietly.
