Here's the update on status:

We're behind schedule because we decided to build a second prototype.

What's Done
Prototype built and tested.
Layout and schematic 99% final and posted.
Just got a 99% chassis CAD drawing yesterday.
Components ordered or in stock.
Blank prototype chassis on hand (this took 2 weeks longer than we had expected)
First custom transformer set received from Heyboer
Fit mechanical parts and order final chassis - tested full size pape drawing with real parts, sent updstes to manufacturer
Measured all voltages with prototype transformers, then 'clipped in' Heyboer power transformer to confirm with new readings. Ready to order

What's to do
Order transformers Feb 13th
Finalize chassis drawings and Order chassis Feb 16-18
Hand Punch a prototype chassis based on CAD drawing.
Build first Trip Top using Heyboer Iron to test documentation
Assemble documentation for kit

Transformers and chassis will take 4-6 weeks.

If we can find more ways to speed up decisions we can further reduce the timeline.

Transformers ordered from Heyboer on Friday 13th. :D
"Final" chassis drawing completed and 3D model completed. Plan is to order chassis today.
These are the long term items than needed to be done.

Need to update the artwork for front and rear of chassis.
Need to update the schematic and layout to incorporate a few necessary changes kurtlives discovered. :bugeye:

Next step will then be to take the final chassis drawing and punch out a chassis and start on a build following the layout and schematic to document and confirm the build process for the forum and builders guide.

6Mar - Trasnformers
Transformers will get wound next week, then finish leads, laminations, test, dip, bake process.
OT`s got wound on Saturday 7Mar. Need to be cut and leads put on.
ETA not sure exact date, but right now looks like the week of the 16th.

17Mar - Chassis
Cages should be going out for powder coat painting this week.
Chassis are running a few days behind. Material is in but not punched yet hoping to get them punched tomorrow. Then out for silk screening next week.

Coming together a little more slowly than we'd like but we are close as you can see.

We are getting very close to having the Trip Top kits ready. I plan to send out electronic copies of the manual and drawings next week to all the first buiders who pre-ordered the kits.

Tomorrow we are making turret boards and packing parts.

Waiting on the chassis and transformers - as usual.

Hello, Here is a Trip Top Update:

The Heyboer Power and Output Transformers are all wound and in in final stages. Pushing Heyboer to ship this week.

Cages should be back from Powder coating today or tomorrow.

Chassis were waiting on getting mirror finish material but in conversation yesterday, they are ready to be punched and should be out for silk screening later this week.

Our push is to get all these parts by the end of next week or sooner.

The first batch of turret boards were made and all other parts are packed up and ready to go. We need to make the eyelet boards next.

Links to the draft documents were provided to the first group of cutomers. If you cant get the document, let us know.

We hope this is the very last update before shipping!

Last week we drove 800 Km / 500 mi (one way) to Michigan, USA, to the Heyboer factory to pick up the Trip Top Transformers. So we have 180 kg / 400 lbs of them in the shop right now!

We built all the support rods for those who ordered the cages and got the old school style knurled retaining nuts for them.

The cages were delivered to the chassis shop, all powder coated.

The chassis were built but we are still waiting for the silk screeners to print the chassis. I talked to them and they were hoping they would be ready by Friday, if not, probably the following Monday.

The mirror finish stainless steel look is simply beautiful. Sturdy and Shiny.
