Hi,

There's a discrepancy between the builder's guide and the layout/schematic documents where the OD trim pot is shown with conflicting wiring diagrams.

My OSD kit came with these printed documents:

    Amp Builder's Guide Ver. 1.28
    OSD Layout rev. 20
    OSD Schematic rev. 14

The layout and schematic are the same, and show pin 1 to ground. The builder's guide diagram is different and shows pin 3 to ground on page 70. The description in the builder's guide says "connect the 220k resistor with a yellow lead to terminal 3 of the 250k trim control", in agreement with the layout/schematic.

My guess is that the schematic, layout, and instructions are correct and that the builder's guide diagram is wrong, but can someone confirm this please?

Thanks!

The plot thickens... On page 68 of the builder's guide there is a diagram with the label "W. TO TRIM 1" meaning: connect the 220k resistor with a white lead to terminal 1 of the 250k trim control.

To summarize the conflicting information:

Builder's guide p.70: "Connect the 220k resistor with a yellow lead to terminal 3 of the 250k trim control."
Build guide p70: diagram shows pin 1 to 220k resistor.
Build guide p68: diagram shows pin 1 to 220k resistor.
Schematic / layout: both show pin 3 to 220k resistor.

Help!

1) I can only find Rev. 10 of layout, 2) the color of the wire from 220K resistor ON the board doesn't matter; the wire from 220k on the board goes to lug 1 on Trim pot, 3) I would wire it as shown in Build Guide and Layout. You can PM Coco thru the User Control Panel, I think that the lug numbers for the Trim pot on the schematic are probably reversed and incorrect! You may have found an error  that Coco (Stephen) needs to correct. And I agree the color discrepancy of the wires (Wht.,Y or Org) and numbering on lugs for Trim pot in Build manual are confusing. Hope your able to get it sorted out w/ Coco. PS Diagrams in Build Guide and Layout correspond: the wording (paragraphs 5 and 6) doesn't!!

Thanks for the input. However, part of what you said is incorrect: "PS Diagrams in Build Guide and Layout correspond." That's not in fact true!

Layout diagram shows pin 1 to GND, which means the Build Guide and Layout do not correspond!:

Build guide pg.70 shows pin 3 to GND:

Just for completeness here's the schematic (pin 1 to GND):

In contrast, build guide pg.68 has pin 1 to the 220k resistor (please ignore my correction in red):

I'll ping Stephen to see if we can get the final word on this. Thanks!

The change was made because the trim was wired in reverse so it was a simple matter of switching the leads to pin 1 & 3 to correct it. (Worked but in reverse)

Correct Layout here: https://www.trinityamps.com/docs/OSDLayout20.pdf

Builder's Doc updated as well and posted here: https://www.trinityamps.com/docs/OSDBui ... de1291.pdf

No change to schematic.
