Pictured is a custom amp built for Bernie O'Connor of Kingston, ON. He liked Jason Fryer's Trinity Tweed and wanted one with more power and extended headroom. So this started out as our Tweed 5E3 circuit then we added 6L6 TAD power tubes, huge Heyboer Power transformer to supply over 400 VDC and matching Output transformer. It is a fixed bias amp with a Power level control to dial down the volume in smaller venues. The power control fits into the left slot where the stand-by switch was. The power switch is a progressive OFF- STANDBY-ON type we use on our TRIWATT. As a bonus, we added a pull pot switch for a Fat control on the second gain stage and extra buffering to smooth out the overdrive. This should be a killer amp and we're looking forward to hearing Bernie play it soon. The cabinet is a mahogany stained pine unit with satin finish and with a natural cane grill cloth. The speaker is a Tone Tubby Alnico Red. More pictures of the finished amp to come soon.
