Good afternoon everyone! Decision time has come, and it's a rough one for me. The wife said to pick out my birthday gift and I'm torn between the Triwatt and OSD and I need some persuasion, advice, pro/con list, ANYTHING! I've wanted a Hiwatt ever since I was a kid and my dad had a Who concert on replay. However, hearing clips of the OSD just sounds so sweeeeet. I play mostly rock with a heavy leaning to prog stuff and I've always wanted to sound like Lifeson and Townshend...I feel like I'm talking myself into a decision on here. Current users of one, either, or both please chime in with opinions! I've heard Triwatt loves pedals more...Should I go for my first love?

Go for your first love. Not that the OSD is less of an amp, it is great, but the difference between a Fender heritage and a HIWATT heritage is immense.

Great, however there's a huge gap between an HIWATT legacy and a Fender heritage. During the process of constructing my taxis, I committed his tolexing films to memory. dordle

The Hiwatt definitely has that classic rock pedigree, especially if you're aiming for that Lifeson or Townshend tone. On the other hand, if you’re drawn to the sweet sound of the OSD, it might inspire you in ways you haven't imagined yet. Maybe consider which sound will push you to explore your creativity more.
