Started testing voltages. Line voltage is hovering near 120-119 VAC. Voltage at rectifier diodes 630 VAC w/ no tubes. Heater voltage at 6.8 VAC. Checked DC voltages at test points shown on layout w/ tubes installed(see attachment). Are these within tolerance or are they low (particularly V1 pins 1 and 6)?

Also, since I flux washed the board, all the solder joints are looking dull (using fresh 63/37 Kester solder); is this normal to see after flux washing?

Your voltages will work.

The lower voltages are within 6 to 10% of the published values which is normal in tube circuits.

Washing the flux off the board shouldn't dull the solder joints. But once you start cleaning, you have to make sure you get all the flux off or the board looks worse than if you didn't clean it at all. I try to just solder neatly so I don't have to clean excess flux. Sometimes I have to though, like a component on a solid-state board with closely spaced leads and I want to make sure there are no shorts or partially soldered joints. Then I use flux remover spray and scrub the area with a toothbrush.

Thanks, Mitch. Forgot the toothbrush part from my AX84 days. Got started doing amps back around 2010 when a player friend was wishing he had kept his original tube amp instead of going SS. Built some of their designs John Calhouns Mini Firefly amp. Had lost interest until I retired needing to have a hobby :rol and found Coco and Trinity amps.
