Would someone mind clarifying how the red DPDT toggle is supposed to be wired? It doesn't seem very clear to me in the instructions and I'm afraid that I'll get it in there wrong. Also, it looks like this switch belongs in the "Load" opening rather than "Bias", is that right? Will the bias slot be left open? I'm not trying to do any mods at this point, just using the 6V6 tube that came in the kit. Thanks!

It's the Bias switch. Wire it as shown on the layout. The 560 ohm resistor goes to the two terminals on the switch closest to the output jacks. The 750 ohm resistor goes to the center terminals on the switch and pin 8 of the output tube. The confusing part might be that these little switches connect their center terminals to the terminals opposite to the way the toggle is pointing.

The hole marked Load is for the optional output transformer wiring if you want to install a switch so you can use an EL34 output tube.

Use the Lo bias setting with a 6V6 output tube. The Hi setting is for a 6L6 or an EL34.

Also, it looks like the locations for the Bias switch and the spare hole for the Load switch are shown reversed on the layout compared with the actual chassis. Anyway, mount your switch in the Bias hole and wire it as shown on the layout.

If you just plan to only use a 6V6 you could even leave out the Bias switch and wire the 750 ohm resistor/1000uF capacitor directly to pin 8 on the output tube socket. That way the switch would never get accidentally flipped to the wrong bias setting.

You might want to check the Tone Tweaking section, pg. 63 of the current build guide. Coco suggests replacing the stock 560 ohm, 5K resistor with a 1K 5W for KT 66 and the El34 tubes. Did it with mine and sounds really nice. And the amp was really quiet, too.

Oops, sorry. Saw you weren't planning any mods.

Sorry about the layout. It is the bias switch. We will change the picture.

Notice in this layout, the lead from the Octal pin 8 goes to the board, then only 1 wire is needed to the DPDT switch.

It looks like the new side view switch drawing is backwards. The wire from the 560 ohm resistor should go to the terminals farthest away from the chassis bend, as shown in the layout.

These little switches connect their center terminals to the terminals opposite to the way the toggle is flipped. So if the Hi setting is at the top of the switch, the wire for the high bias circuitry should be at the bottom of the switch.
