I might build a boost/distort or other circuit using the spare tube socket.
Any experiences or info, even comments, recommendations or advice welcome...

Hi Pete,
I was looking into this as well. As for a boost, I've seen a couple of threads here on the forum regarding a Pre-amp Boost, where the tone stack is partially lifted from the circuit. Seems like this would be a good approach and much simpler than adding an extra tube if extra gain/boost is the goal.

I've also thought about adding reverb, but from what I could tell it seems like I need "one and a half" tubes to do this mod...not entirely sure.

When I first got into amp building, I did some Valve Junior mods. Lots of info over on SEWATT forums, and I believe there are a fair number of threads about adding a gain stage to that amp...it's a SE amp with single pre and power amp tubes, so perhaps the approach would be similar in the Tramp?
