I just picked up this 6L6GC NOS tube for $10, I figured I'd try it in my upcoming Tramp build. I have no idea if these tubes are any good but this is supposedly NOS unused, new in box so it might sound good.

Anyone ever heard of Tronix tubes and do you think this tube will sound OK in the Tramp?

I picked up another NOS labelled a 6L6GC "Radiotron".
Should be fun trying these out. 8)

Im curious, do you still use it, and is there some others markings (besides Tronix and 6L6GC) ?

It's still here in the box, I never could find out any info on it, I didn't want to risk my amp with a tube that I couldn't find any specs or info on so I just packed it away. Currently I have an EH 6L6GC in the amp and have run it for about a year, it sounds great, nice solid tone. The 12ax7 is an NOS JAN Philips and that is a nice sounding tube too, came upon a small batch of them years ago and grabbed them and a few RCA's.
I noticed Stoo answered my post way back about 5 years ago, RIP.

I was asking because it say "England", while 6L6GC is an american designation. Maybe it was made by an american or russian manufacturer for a british reseller, it may be better than you think for such a low price...

Just got some more info, Mike from KCANOSTubes has come across these before here is his summary:

"Cheapo soviet "6L6 like" tube. Known as fire crackers and relegated for use as 6V6s by Groove Tubes (a few decades ago) because they couldn't handle US 6L6GC voltages very well."

The ideal candidate when you want to break a tube to see how they are made. Interesting link btw

Good thing you didnt use it. Might be best to steer clear of it or use it at the 6V6 settings.
