Hey guys,

In reference to dodgechargerfan's thread I was thinking: for those of us who are new to interpreting schematics, it would be very useful (and help avoid confusion) if you could mark the part numbers (C12, R18, etc) on the layout?

One other thing I'd like to mention: I found it really hard to read the values on the smallest resistors. Even when I blew the image up, the print got blurred out. Can I suggest either 1) a higher-res image, or 2) make the parts (and mainly the fonts) a bit bigger?

Thanks! :)
Christopher

OK, thanks for the input. Will take a look at making them more readable.

Funnily enough I never noticed that the layout didn't show the circuit references... :? :)

Or you can place the layout and schematic side by each, then go from input to output labeling each component on the layout. Then you have expanded your knowledge on your build and experience.
When I started we used coloured pencils to put in signal, bias, grid, B++,B+, grnd, etc. then on the layout the coresponding components were identified and coloured in. We would also draw boxes around the different sections and identify half split fault finding points and check what nominal voltages were and mark them as well.
We also learnt to write down our fault finding steps and where they were.
Makes for a good set of manuals when you do it that way.

Also good ideas - except it's not always that evident which way things flow. If the parts are numbered on both I think it would be easier to look at one to the other & see the relationships.
