Well, the tramp kit, and cabinet & speaker are sitting in my basement... looks great! Unfortunately my Tramp wont be making it to the building board for a while. I have some big projects on the go which will take me until the end of summer.

Amp building is more of a "fall and winter" thing for me anyhow :)

That's the longest you've ever waited to build an amp, AJ!

I will need to work on it soon to keep my sanity... my shop build is stressing me out. Spending big $$, trying to coordinate contractors (septic service, well driller, plumber, heating guys, general contractor) and trying to find someone to move some heavy equipment... and deal with the bank, etc.

It would have been easier to move to KL.. :)

Once this is over (the new shop) I will be back to my old self. The summer of fun is over now the real work begins!

Amp building on Christmas eve??? That's just freakin awesome! I'm settling for playing my new (to me) Hagstrom Super Swede through my Tramp. :)

Merry Christmas all!

Well, its just my wife and I, and the dog. Just walked the dog for 1 1/2 hours in the bush, we have some running around to do but them I am good to go!

Going over the manual one more time before I start...

What would Christmas eve be without some running around to do!! It's the man thing to do!!

Now on to build a Tramp by the fireplace and see what comes down the chimney!

Well, I managed to get all the components installed into the chassis. I wired in half of the pots/swtiches and put most of the components on the board... I was short one of the smaller capacitors but had one of the required value left over from another build so I am good to go (actually I wasnt short one, I had one with the wrong capacity).

My wife actually works tomorrow (poor her..) so I will have some time to work on it again.

I will finish the board, mount it and probably get the rest of the wiring done. If not, will finish up Sunday :)

So far everything fits perfectly...

Was playing my new 18W amp tonight, and also my TC15 (with my ash Tele I had down in Toronto) along with the new Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers CD... good times! :)

Happy Christmas EVe you guys!

Well, the tramp is alive and kicking!

I went to power it up after about 3 hours more of work this afternoon, and nothing... Nada, no led light or anything. Checked the AC on my input/line and discovered I forgot to solder the white wire of the main line in... oops!

After that, good to go.

Just tried her out for about 15 minutes... sounds good. But I have to go. Will have to play more tomorrow, as I am headed to friends for Christmas dinner.

Forgot to add this...

In the BOM there are 4 carbon film resistors 220K, plus one more 2W and one carbon comp 220K.

I only used the 2W, the CC and two of the 1W 220K CF ones, ie, I have two resistors left over... cant seem to find them anywhere on the schematic or layout and of course my amp is working so???

OK, forget the two extra resistors... thins thing sounds GREAT! The power level thingy really works, and man, its the first time I can really get a great tone, down at a decent at-home-with-the-wife level... :)

The Tramp is a nice amp fo' sure!

Now, I only have to decide which amp to play from my sIII, 18W trem, Trinity 15, TC-15, 5E3, Triwatt, JTM45, Tramp & Stangray... ;)

Golly Andrew - that must be rough! :)

I'm in the same boat though, but I am Tramp-less for the time being.
