And is again...Thanks Mitch...did all that too, everything tidy and in order it seemed, and then decided to try something too obvious and so easy it made me look for a more difficult trouble. I swapped the tube, switched to lower current for 6v6 cathode R. Lazy [I should have looked over and verified the circuit configuration first], funny [don't laugh..I'm just glad the mosfet's sturdy sense of humor only emitted smoke signals to end the comedy stress !] and luck that the design/hardware was able to withstand the negligent. Then taken down to jam, and all night long +comments, interest and admiration. Super Solid Rock Amp.
