My Triwatt started doing something strange after ~80 hours of use. When I first start playing after warming the tubes for a couple of minutes on standby after initially starting it up, it sounds very flubby (is that a word?) on the "e" string. Then it tightens up after I've played for a few minutes. After that it's good for the rest of the session, even if I put it on standby for 20 minutes or so. Any thoughts?

Use some alligator clips and attach them to the B+. Monitor the B+ as you play and do your thing as you described. Try to see if it fluctuates. Kinda makes me think its a filtering capacitor acting up.

My other guess would be maybe a bad joint that is changing as the amp heats up and such.

Try tube swapping yet? Check bias?

Thanks for the thought starters. I haven't tried anything yet, I'm curious though.
