:D So far so good I think. Probably spent 12 hours so far. Time do do a layout and connection check before starting on the board.

Figured people are looking at my lovely input jacks and thinking, 12 hours just to do that? What a dope. :rol
Hopefully I can post some more soon.

:?: Layout question. A shielded wire comes off pin 7 of V2 and heads over to the grounding strip between the volumes. Just before it hits the strip it appears to split off to tab 3 of the normal volume pot. is this a split using the shielding wire or is it simply a wire connection from tab 3 over to the grounding strip?

I assume you're talking about that green wire. That's the shield and indeed it is grounded via the connection at the volume pot. However if you look at some build pix in the Triwatt section,it looks like Phil may have grounded the shield right at the ground buss on the tag board.

Well I think I'll just take the shield over to the #3 tab then. Follow the layout is my moto. Thanks. :D

If you follow the build pictures, you'll probably do a little better actually. After Stephen and I designed the original layout, and then I built more of these amps, I started finding small tweaks to improve noise and hum levels that little bit more. Some were possibly a little anal. :)

I was following a lot of things based on your photos (extremely helpful) but I had noticed that you had installed the footswitch option and I was a little worried that this may have changed some of the other wiring so when in doubt I go with layout first. Trying real hard to keep wiring short and organized. I'll be a little dissapointed when the build is finished. I'm afraid I've got the bug. :D

The footswitch option does change the wiring a little in the vicinity of the second 12AX7. The rest is no different.

:?: On the layout there is a connection from the 7K5 2W over to the 8 ohm tab on the impedance switch. There is also another line from the 7K5 2W terminating in an arrow. What is this? I've looked at some build photos but the wiring is too tight and it's hard to see.

It means the wire comes from the transformer through the chassis.
