The Hiwatt Lead models were made in the early 80s and featured an extra gain stage (using the otherwise spare triode in the amp), and had an "Overdrive" gain control for the extra stage. The Triwatt is closely based on an early '70s "Custom Hiwatt", but has this additional Overdrive stage, with a pull-switch on the control knob, so you can chose whether to have it engaged or not. This adds a whole extra dimension to the amp, making it like two different Hiwatt models in one. The Triwatt also has the 3-input configuration (Normal, Bright, Linked) found on Dave Gilmour's amps. So maybe it's almost like three Hiwatts in one - which I think kind of fits its name. :D

Ahh I see so the Trinity Triwatt is now known as the Custom Triwatt Lead?

Looks very authentic... :) Guess I'll have to settle for the first Triwatt & matching cab on the Rock!
