Hello,

I have completed a Trinity Tweed Deluxe. Now, I'm looking to build a cabinet for it and I have a few questions. I am planning on using Yellow Pine as I believe that was the wood that was used on the originals. What type of wood should be used for the baffle and the back panels? How thick should the baffle and back panels be? I'm assuming I should use pine for the cleats and baffle support pieces. Is this isn't correct please let me know. Also, I've noticed recently that every once while, I'm playing, the amp goes quiet, like someone turned down the volume. After a few moments the volume returns back to normal. What could be causing this? Is it a bad tube?

Thanks for all your help and advice!

Being fairly new, the first thing I would suggest is to closely inspect your solder joints and reflow any that look bad (dull, eyelets and lugs not completely filled. It may be be as simple as that. Don't ask how I know ;) !

I built my own 5E3 cabinet a few years ago so I’m trying to go by memory. I used 3/4 inch yellow pine for the cabinet and cleats, 1/2 inch Baltic birch plywood for the baffle and 3/8th inch plywood for the back panels if memory serves me. And I agree, check for cold solder joints.
