In the process of putting together a cabinet, I've been trying to avoid screws in favor of bolts and t-nuts. I was wondering, is there a downside to attaching the baffle to the cabinet fascia using bolts from the outside to t-nuts on the inner side of the baffle rather than screws?

I'm already using t-nuts for the speaker, and intending to using them for the handle, potentially the back plates.

No Down side. We use them for the handles too.
You may not have enough space to fit them inside the cabinet.

No downside really except not really needed there. Handles and the speaker they are a must.

If you really want to use them to fasten the baffle, I'd install the t-nuts to the battens before you install them to the cabinet body. Would make it a lot easier.

On a tweed, they would be pretty close to the edge. Besides, nuts and bolts are easy to install!
