Works either way.

It's AC so polarity does not matter.

with a voltmeter to either of those leads and the other test lead to ground, would that not give me 6.3 vac ?

Also, how critical are Tight twists in heaters leads, and also, it's Very important to have these twisted jumpers laying against the bottom of chassis (for reduction in hum ?) Thank you..

With a voltmeter set to AC you will read 3.15V AC from ground to one of those leads.
If you measure lead to lead you will get 6.3V AC.

They should be fairly tight but I wouldn't loose sleep over their tightness and how critical it is.

Not sure which twisted jumpers your referring too.

The tightness of the twists are mostly a visual thing for the most part, even a really loose twist will do the trick, but it is better to err on the side of caution, the heater leads were against the chassis in the original tweeds but not twisted together. Here's a pic of a real 5e3 belonging to a friend of mine. You can see the green heater wires clearly. Every bit of attention to detail in the lead dress can be crucial as the hum issues can be cumulative.Keep the wires short and neat, but don't drive yourself crazy trying to make it perfect!

I'm havin so much fun building this amp, it wouldn't be the same if this was like some of the other "clicky" forums that I'd pretty much feel like I was on my own, thankfully you guys are the greatest bunch of any of the amp forums...Especially Joey and Kurtlives..you two guys have gone out of your way to help me every step of the way..I hope you show others in life the same as you have for me...special people indeed
