Ok so here's the situation:

A) I'm definitely getting frustrated and may have mucked myself up a bit.

B) I can not for the life of me get that stupid light bulb to fit. I have the right ones. Could I have possibly over soldered the connection and froze the mechanism?

C) When taking readings on my voltmeter I'm getting some weird things. (See photos)

D) So the cab I bought was modeled after a 5C3. I didn't think there would be a difference (because i didn't know what i was doing and I'm inexperienced) there was, and friend's dad helped me fit the chassis in this morning. Will the power tubes being that close to the speaker be a problem? (see photo)

You are going to have full B+ from the chassis to the rectifier if that's waht you are concerned about. If the tubes clear the speaker, you should be OK. As for fittng the bulb, I doubt it is a solder related problem. Are you getting 6.3 V across the light terminals? The fixture is spring loaded, so see if that is moving. Be sure to unplug & drain everything first.

Fit the bulb so the two little slots line up with the lamp holder. You need to push the bulb in then twist so it locks in.

Your photos aren't clear at all. Post a voltage chart with all your readings.

Tubes close to the speaker are ok. Just don't let the two touch.
