I put an 8 ohm Celestion G12H-30 in my Deluxe when I built it back in January. I took it out (I had a matched pair) to put into a new 2x12 I made, and purchased a lightly used Webber 12" alnico speaker off of some fellow in PEI (found it on Guitars Canada for sale forum).

Wow, it really does sound a ton better than the G12H! I have a TT Alnico, but it is in another 2x12 I have and didnt want to take it out. The Webber sounds really warm and rich.

Playing it with my home made jumbo archtop (my sort Gretsch copy) it makes an awesome pair.

So, the Deluxe moves up a notch! What a difference a speaker can make. I trust the Tubby's and I think the BBQ is good, but the TTs are better. Another notch!

STephen,
Currently my two TT speakers are in my vertical 2x12... and I didnt want to separate the pair for the Deluxe... :)

Its nice to have a mix of speakers (currently I have Celestion G12H-30's, a bunch of Vintage 30's and a LEad 80, as well as the Tubby Alnico and ceramic.

The deluxe does sound sweeter with that speaker though... its a P12N. Maybe not AS good as the TTubby, but good never the less ;)

I am trying (again) to practice and learn more rockabilly style guitar playing. The combo of the TV JOnes' classics in the big semi hollow through the 5E3 is very nice to say the least.

Try those clean settings out & switch A-B. [interactive volume control post]

Nice guitar you built there!

"no guitar for you!.... one year! " :)

I dont make em' for sale anyhow generally, just for me. That was my first semi hollow. I am going tomake up a set of molds (to press up the laminate top and back) next year to make another semi hollow design of my own. Smaller and thinner body, something like a Byrdland.

Probably not, the only guitar forum where I have shown my work is Harmony Central and the Canadian Guitar Forum. I havent participated in any actual guitar building forums.

I saw this post in conjunction with noticing another new member here, like myself. Anyone who reads this should definetely check out Mattia's guitars that he builds. He is one hell of a luthier; I have seen his work on the Project Guitar Forum, and it is there that he has assisted me and countless others in answering questions and providing great advice and info on building guitars. I am glad to see him on this site. He is a true artist and a gentleman, check out his work.

Don't have a website up and running, but here's a pic of the latest electric I completed. I've got six others (a strat, a tele, a lefty Kelly/Explorer, an electric archtop, a blinged up Jumbo and a Parlour guitar) in the pipeline, close to completion, may post them when I'm done. I'll clearly have to build a guitar to match the TC-15 when I finish it, as only the strat and tele in the above list are for myself...

PRS-inpired chambered electric, 25" scale, maple top, african mahogany back, honduran mahogany neck, silver wire, gold MOP, white MOP, Abalone inlay, Wilkinson bridge, DiMarzio buckers, all wood trim made by me:

beautifull stuff!

I love it when guys make their own instruments and play them. I mean, I appreciate more a player who builds their own stuff than a dedicated builder who barely plays.

To me, the ultimate thrill is playing one of my own guitars through an amp & cabinet I also built myself (albeit from a kit) :)

Long live DIY! :) (but I hope you sell a lot of assembled amps too Stephen! )
