Can I just replace the 6V6's with bigger Octals, ie, 6L6s, EL34s, KT66s etc... If it's true cathode bias I should be able to, shouldn't I? Why the mod in the litterature for 6L6s?

Ok, here is what I know. Please feel free to fill in the many holes of my knowledge:
-Cathode bias also means self bias
-The transformers will not provide more heat or up the wattage of the Deluxe if I were to use bigger Octals.

So why up the wattage of the bias resistor (it is the bias resistor?) when you want to replace 6V6s with 6L6s?
Is this a fixed cathode bias amp? What would the "magic" resistor value be for it to be completely self biased?
