Well , it's a Tremolux , but it's basically the same if you remove the trem.

Methinks it be quite different - e.g. Phase Inverter, Bass, Treble, Fixed Bias, Choke, GZ34 rectifier.

Voltage is OK for 6V6 but 400V on EL84. I guess you'd need to keep the bias under control!

Yeah, it is a bit different. I realized after posting that it is a "brownface" and not a "Tweed". I just thought that it was interesting that Leo used EL84's for one version of his "Tremo-de-luxes".

Technicaly speaking, running el84's in a 5e3 would be pretty simple if you could drop the voltage, no? is there anything that would really needed to be changed?

I guess I could just read up on converting 18 watts from el84 to 6v6's and do some of those changes, but opposite?

It will work if you change the cathode bias resistor to 120 - 150 ohms and drop the voltage B+ to 350. No, dont go and grab your VARIAC!!

I ended up with a nice PT for a scratch build based on a 5e3 I'm doing, which has multiple HV taps. Perfect for a 6v6 pair OR a el84 pair... I was thinking even a switchable power section for a 5e3!

Now, i know this isn't really a 5e3 (not exactly...) but i think it relate prettty closley. And, i was using stephens v6 layout to figure out how to do this...

I figured I can set it up so i have a hi/lo power switch with the HV taps before the rectifier. This way, I can run the 6v6's at either high or lower voltage. Also, having another switch to toggle between using 6v6's or el84's. I drew this up fairly quick on MS paint (im at my parents house over the eater weekend, so I couldnt do anything else!) and i was wondering if this is how it would/should be done.

The only thing im worried about is someone other than me trying to play the el84's on the higher voltage taps... Im sure I can make it clear not too.. somehow!

heres the fender layout i destroyed with ms paint... any problems?

*i hope this isnt too off topic, if it is you can just move it out of the 5e3 section if you want
