That small hole on the chassis is indeed meant for a screw to secure the upper real plate. The screw and washer you’ve seen in photos help keep the plate firmly attached and reduce any movement. Even if it’s not always mentioned in manuals, adding that screw is a good idea for stability and longevity. Just make sure to use the right size to avoid any damage!
