So today’s clips on the EF86 Channel (mostly). No MV on any of them again. Rob Waite again generously played…

First Set:

CH2 – Clean – pickups in the middle position
Munch/Hi/Lo Input
Cut 3:00
Treble 10:30
Bass 12:00
Volume 7:30

Geets:
Fender Standard Stratocaster – Mexico (stock)
Gibson Les Paul Studio Vintage Mahogany w/Burstbucker Pro pickups
Gibson Les Paul Faded Doublecut w/P-90 pickups
Danelectro '59 Dano

** Someone wanted to hear the difference the hi/lo switch you put on the back of mine made. I think the Les Paul clips illustrate the sonic difference quite well.

Second Set:

CH2 – Dirty – pickups in the bridge position *** amazing how different bridge pickups can be!

Munch/Hi/Hi Input
Cut 3:00
Treble 10:30
Bass 10:30
Volume 8:00

Geets:
Fender Ash Telecaster (USA)
Fender Cyclone HH w/Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59, TB-5 Duncan Custom
Gibson Les Paul Faded Doublecut w/P-90 pickups
Gibson SG Special w/490R, 490T pickups
Danelectro '59 Dano

  Bonus Third Set – OZZY just for fun!!

We just popped my Swamp Ash Les Paul into CH1 Hi Input (bridge position), and cranked the volume full up. Contour was in the first position, and cut was at 3:00. Could probably get a better tone gunning like this, but it was spontaneous and fun so I included it! Who said the TC15 isn’t for shredders!!!!!!

Geet:

Gibson Les Paul Swamp Ash Studio w/490R, 498T pickups

:jawdrop:

Enjoy!

EDIT: Actually other than "Ozzy", they were on Ch.2 the NON-EF86 channel. Do I have Ch1 and Ch2 reversed?!? :? Aw, shucks, you guys know what I'm saying!!

Oh, and in the first set, listen to the "LPVM" clips back-to-back to hear exactly what the Hi/Lo switch Stephen put onto my TC is doing...

Oh and I didn't make note of it, but all these were through my Trinity 2x12 with TTA's and recorded with a single SM57...

I moved the LPVM clips beside each other to make the comparison easier. Hope you'all like it!

WOW, talk about a difference. Great demo of the feature.

Yeah, the Hi/Lo thing almost makes a humbucker sound single coil...

Hello Guys, what is the Hi / Lo switch in the Les Paul clips above? Is that switching off and on the bypass cap on the V2 cathode resistor? If it isn't that, where can i find some more info on it? Thanks

Yes. Take look at the reference schematics and you will see it.

Thanks, you are always helpful. I had already installed the switch today but breaking the ground connection to the cap instead. It works great. I used a 100k reference to ease switching noise too.
