Hi folks,
A few short Triwatt clips demonstrating the high gain potential.
Please pardon the atrocious playing!
The were recorded with my Zoom H4 using the on-board mics, with my SG Standard (with JS Moore pickups) straight into the Triwatt. Tone stack was at noon across the board. Master was at 9:00 for all clips. Link input with channel volumes well up there. The high gain clips have the OD engaged at about 3:00. It's feeding back a little, but that guitar goes microphonic very easily and the bridge pickup is very hot.
BTW, this was done using my Triwatt cab loaded with BBQ Fane clones. The recorder was sitting on a box about 2 feet from the cab, slightly off-axis.
I don't know how these are gonna sound - sounds OK on my computer speakers.
First up, just an example of how much you can do with the guitar's volume knob & pick attack. Starts off wide open, then I roll off the volume & control the drive with the pick. I also switch to the middle position during the pause.

Now for you Wolfmother fans...first, without the OD...

Here's just some heavy chugging...

And finally a riff from one of my pal's originals...

It always amazes me how different stuff sounds when recorded.
