The trick is to make sure any grounded connection as only 1 path to ground and not 2. Possibly one of those jacks needs to have the ground lifted possibly the input side.

Yeah I was thinking of trying that. Been doing quite a bit of research on this. Apparently it is a quite common issue with the 6G15 stand-alone reverb units. Transformer isolation in the signal between the reverb unit and the amp is the general consensus in how to solve the problem. Well that and lifting the ground pin on the reverb unit's power cord but I'm not going there.

The quick-fix (that preserves safety ground) is a HumX. They are about $50 but they work and I don't have to fuss with building my own transformer isolation box to sit between the reverb and the amp. So... I think I will go that route and see what happens.
