Hi. Is there a link someone can give to the preferred Lightning schematic? I think I'm gonna build one for myself.

Thanks for the invite to join, Stephen! - CraigB

Hi Craig:

Send me your email address and I will send you Rev7. I think this is the newest schematic.

You'll find it in the links section of the trinity website, under Lightning Project at the top. :D

Please do so. Here's the short cut - http://www.trinityamps.com
Click "Links" knob. At the top of the Links listing is the Lightning Project. Enjoy!

Is this the CraigB of the Atlas Tweed fame?

I built one of those using 6sc7's in the preamp stages and it is totally killer. Made it out of a Hammond organ chassis and trannies. I didn't change anything except the tubes from the schematic.

I made it into a head amp and traded it to a local guitar builder for a custom made guitar. He plays in a local band and once he got it he sold his Fender Showman. He said the Atlas Tweed is the best sounding amp he has. That includes Marshall, Fender, Carvin.

I now have another Hammond organ amp to make one for myself.

Thanks for the Atlas Tweed a great sounding amp

JohnH & Craig. I always wanted to make one of those Atlas Tweeds. JohnH, what Hamond organ did you start out with? Maybe I'll get the holy_ghost to make me one!

So many amps, so little time!

Yep, same CraigB. Thanks for the link to the Lightning. Sorry I didn't look closer. Hey, it's very cool to hear people like the atlas tweed, which came about because I really like the simplicity and sounds attainable with the Spitfire preamp, I had trannies suitable for a p/p 6V6, and I figured the two might work well together. - CB

The first one was a Hammond M, the early virsion with all octal tubes in it. That's why I went with the 6SC7 preamp tubes they are the same gain as a 12AT7.

The one I have now is a Hammond M-3. A later version with 9 pin preamp tubes. I plan on making this Atlas Tweed with 12AX7 preamp tubes and I can always put in 12AT7's if I want to cut the gain a little.

With that and the 18watter and a P-1 extreme on the bench I am pretty much buried.
