Tamed the gain a bit for humbuckers and p90's. I'm sure a lot of you have done this, but I did seem to get a bit more clean headroom out of it. I might even try a 12AY7 out of my Tweed Fender later.

Bottom line, the Lightning might not have a lot of clean headroom, but it has some beautiful distortion to it, cleans up with the guitar's volume knob better than any amp I've ever played.

How was the output volume affected by the AT7? Much of an change?

Not really that much volume loss when you crank it. Just a bit more useable range on the gain knob.
