On the Lightning preamp, there's a little .0015uf cap. If I changed it to a .0022 or .0042, what tone changes do you think I could expect?

I don't see such a cap in the schematic, but I think you might be talking about the 1200pF coupling cap on the first stage. If that is the case, increasing it will allow more lower mids and bass to pass through, which may be a very desirable effect on this amp. A lot of Marshalls use a .0047uF on the bright channel in this position. Most other amps use .022uF, but many of the tweedies go all the way up to .1uF, which is how they get their famous growl.

In trinity's layout, it's marked at a .0015 uf which is pretty darn close to 1200pf. I grabbed an orange drop .0015 but also I have a few Mallory 150's in .0022 and .004 uf

Correct, I recently changed the value to .0015uF

I put a .0022 uf yellow mallory 150 in there a while ago. Not much of a difference in the bass to be honest. There is a bit of something that I can't put my finger on that I like with the Mallory 150 over the Sprague orange drop (.0015uf).

Can't put my finger on it though.
