Last year, I had built the custom cherrywood cab for my Huges & Kettner Tubemiester 18. I hardly used it after the Tramp build, so instead of building a completely new cab for the Tramp, I decided to repurpose it. I removed the H&K from the cherrywood cab & re-installed back into it original cab.
Had to cut the cab depth down, so I still have to route the edge & finish that. Did that about a month ago.
Also removed the H&K logo I had on the grill cloth, so also be replacing that with the leftovers I have.

Weighs in at 22lbs with Celestion Creamback Neo.

This evening I did some mods to my Trinity Tramp amp.









Decided on a Plexi back cover, so I can show off the build if someone is curious.

Might give me more of a “Plexi” tone now!


Convincing my youngest to build the 18 Watt next.

Shazam! Wowser!! OOOHHMG . Now with that out of the way, has the cherry cab started to develop that rich cherry color yet? If it has, then I'm out of superlatives!

Looked at first two photos a little closer and yes, the cherry is starting to look superb. As to the construction, butt, box or dovetail joinery?

That's a beautiful cherry Strat you made, too. Did you also make the neck?

Yes. Originally I bought a MIM Fender neck, then last winter I built the neck for it as well.

Built a few more since then. Just spraying the finish on 4 necks today. Seem to have a lot of time now to build them.

Thanks for posting those links, Scott. I read through them. Very impressive! The Acousti-Tele you built looks fantastic. I really like the birdseye neck and the purfling around the edges of the body. The Lake Placid blue Tele and the black Gilmour Strat your kids built look amazing, too. Looks like you have a very skilled and musical family. And you built a violin, too!
