Nik @ www.Ceri@tone.com for lightning chassis to mod. If there was enough interest, I can get some made.

how many would you have to make in order for it to be worthwhile?
Do you have the measurements for a DC-30 chassis?

Well, unfortunately, 10. Do you have a drawing or dimensions? Do you want all the controls per the original? It's a lot of work to get one chassis started.

I emailed Nik and he quoted me a good price. I am waiting on the drawing from him. I would like to lay it out with the pre-amp tubes up close to the controls and the power tubes in the back. I would like to impliment all the original controls. Let me know what you think as well.

I moved this to the 30Watt forum, since we were getting into a discussion on the chassis.
++++++++++

Good stuff.

What dimensions are you using for your chassis? Did you draw one up? There are several people here who would like such a chassis . So if there is a chance, can the drawing be posted?

Yes, but there are a raft of other holes for extra switches, controls, outputs etc. which is why I was wondering if you were going to do a clone or your own version.

if it's a clone I'd be up for a chassis for sure - but would get Nik to send direct to me since I live closer to him.
I think with Nik it gets cheaper the more he gets made, so if we can get a number of people wanting to buy one, then it could knock the price down alittl.e

Now you're making me wish I had measured up that DC-30 when I had the chance. The overall chassis was the same as the 15. No doubt I could create one. Let's see who else is interested.

Well looking at the basic layout and schemo of the dc-30 Stephen posted I gonna draw a layout - I like visualising a schematic. So i may need verification from you ampbuilding veterans when I have something done. That said, I won't be rushing to get it done.
Here's a guts pic from acplink:

If you go with a board, start with the Trinity 15 layout and go from there.

as soon as my extra sockets arrive, I'll punch out the chassis and make my Lightning 4xEL84. Reports to follow soon.

I just heard that the DC-30 chassis is 19" wide. Can anyone confirm that?? 9" deep, same as 15.

metric dimensions of the dc-30 chassis are
445mm X 220mm X 58mm

After some procrastination, I should have the dc-30 wiring layout finished.
I'm email you a copy Stpehen, see what your thoughts are.

Thanks DAZ!!!! I have been looking for exact dimensions of a DC30 for some time now. Steven had e-mailed me with slightly larger dimensions (which I actually prefer), but it's nice to know the "real" ones. Honestly, in that amp, I'd like a couple extra inches in length and an extra inch or so in depth. I think Steven had guessed at 19" x 9somthing" x 2.5", which I think would allow for an easier build and layout.

Nice! I've been in contact with Nik regarding a custom chassis. Have you used his stuff before? It seems pretty nice.
