I have a trinity Slll that I built a while ago. It has a celestion G12H Herritage 55hz 16 ohm 30 watt in a 1x12 closed back cabinet. It sounds pretty bassy, unfortunately I can't keep the amp cranked up where the tone is ok. The amp is used at home so I need to keep the amp at somewhat lower levels. I ordered the VRM module today. I'm thinking of replacing the G12H with the celestion g12m herritage which is 96db but only 20 watts. I not sure if this would be a problem or not because of the speakers low wattage ? Or maybe the celestion G12m greenback 25 watt speaker. I play mostly classic rock & blues from around the mid 60's to early 70's (Bluesbreakers, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin). And the speaker has to go in a 1x12 cabinet
because of space. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a G12M 25 watt paired with my 18 watt Plexi. I use it both open and closed back and really like the tone. It’s suffered no ill effects from the amp cranked. I play the same type of music as you. And these speakers have been made in the UK since April 2018.

Yea, I was leaning toward getting the gm12 25 watt speaker. Although a friend of mine has a marshall 1974x and I do like the gm12 herritage 20 watt tone. I read a few threads about scummback speakers being close to the old greenback tone. Do you know anything about those speakers.

I’ve heard good things about Scumbacks. No experience with them myself. WGS has the Green Beret that gets good reviews. I’m very pleased with my Celestion and the price was reasonable for a UK made speaker I felt.

I have the wgs green beret in a 1 watt gilmore jr. that I built a number of years ago. It does have that 60's blues/rock tone.
For the sIII think I want to stay with the celestion speakers, do like their quality and tone. I'm going to order the celestion G12m 25 watt greenback today. Since I can't fully crank the amp up because of home use and I'll be installing the VRM mod 25 watts for the speaker should be OK. Thanks for the suggestion and help.

I just sent an email to zzounds asking if their current stock for the celestion g12m 25 watt is the Made in China or the Made in UK/England speaker. Waiting to hear back from them before I purchase. Thanks for the pictures.

I’m in Canada. I bought it from https://qcomponents.ca/12-guitar-speakers.html

JD28 equals September 28, 2018.
